SATURDAY 9TH JULY 2022

10.30AM

walking tour of Kilcar

Meet at Kilcar Church

We have slightly revised this activity and we will now all meet at the church in Kilcar at 10.30am. This is a five minute drive from the main hotel, everyone provides their own transport but there is plenty of parking available.

Once we are gathered, Mai is going to lead us on a walking tour around the town that will take in many of the places our family lived, worked and went to school. If there is time we will also make a visit to the graveyard and pay our respects to our departed loved ones.

It is a fairly gentle walk with a few hills, on quiet roads, and in total we will take around 2 hours.

OWN LUNCH

At your leisure

There are no plans for a group lunch. For those going on the boat trip that follows, you can make your way (via your own transport) to Killybegs where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants.

For those skipping the boat trip, there is a cafe at Aislann Chill Chartha - the community centre in Kilcar, otherwise you are free to explore the area until we all gather for the evening meal.
